Greetings!
Birmingham’s 16th Street Baptist Church extends a hearty welcome to you. We hope you find our new website a convenient place to explore our unique history and to experience His Story. It is this life-changing and world-changing message upon which we build our church and our lives.
When all is said and done, all that we aspire to BE and all we attempt to DO, is intended to glorify Jesus through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God the Father. Jesus really is our MAIN ATTRACTION. He is the reason we are!

At the heart of the story of Civil Rights is the Greatest Story Ever Told. In our web site these stories intertwine naturally. Because the Son has set us free, in His name we seek to set people free from whatever enslaves them. Watch for the HiStory logo.
From the L.A. Times: Birmingham, Ala., embraces its complex history. Fifty years ago, this industrial Southern city was a flash point in the struggle for civil rights. That story is told in monuments, exhibits and more around town. Click here.
Today just about everybody is taking pictures with their cell phone, pad, or digital camera. When you capture the moment in a church activity, share it through Facebook or send them to us and we'll put them in a gallery on our web site.
Our Vision
